Alasdair Cameron
Alasdair could be described as a farmer with a very wide range of other interests. Although his background is in engineering he is an Agricultural Arbiter and Valuer and has held a senior post with the Scottish Department of Agriculture dealing with Crofting issues in the Highlands and Islands.
He has taken part in several Countryside exchanges in Scotland, Europe, USA and Canada. His free time is taken up with investigations into local history, industrial archaeology, vernacular buildings, wildlife projects, and the recording and photographing of them. This makes him a sought after speaker to local groups.
Alasdair is involved with many aspects of the community The Community Council, Ross-shire Voluntary Action, The Black Isle Partnership, and the Black Isle Show where he has been particularly involved in the promotion of local produce and business in conjunction with the Local Enterprise Company
