Study Visits
These visits can be arranged anywhere in Scotland or Ireland.
Each study visit is designed to meet the individual needs of participants who will benefit from integrated 'classroom' learning, which is then backed up by selected case studies and visits to real projects which inspire and inform.
Study visits can be themed to cover specific interest topics, such as tourism, food and drink, community based learning, or women in business etc. The visits can include some, or all of the following elements;
'Classroom' training
- Meetings with rural development professionals
- Presentations by administrators and project managers
- Meetings with economic development staff, LEADER + Local Action Groups and project sponsors and officers
Visits to projects
- Visits to EU funded projects (successes and failures)
- Topic based project visits
- Community led project
Highland/Local Culture introduction to history, culture and hospitality
We also organise some sightseeing for the groups - possibly a sail down Loch Ness to see 'Nessie' or a visit to a distillery
The Rural Insights team will work with you to agree the content of your group's study visit, ensuring that all your areas of interest are covered. From then on, we will take care of all the planning and organisation, leaving you free to make the most of your trip.
Rural Insights study visits cover a wide range of issues and topics, but above all, they are intended to provide you with practical benefits.
